I set the emulator sound sample rate to 48 KHz, I set my device setting to XAudio2 (this is the best device setting for any emulator in my opinion) and of course I set the "Default device" to "Speakers (USB Audio Device)" (regardless of using either of the options I still get popping sounds). I just bought a brand new Spirit Wolf Sades R9 gaming headset and I have it all set up.

I tested numerous Game Boy Advance games to try and figure out if it actually affected all the GBA games being played, sure enough this seemed to be the case. Actual behaviorĪnytime I choose one of these options, I always end up hearing popping sounds during gameplay. Using the settings options OpenAL, XAudio2, or DirectSound while using headsets/headphones should provide great quality sound with no popping/crackling noises during gameplay.
